Montgomery County Multi-Jurisdictional SWAT Team

​​One of the many opportunities that the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office has to offer is the Regional SWAT Team. This team consists of highly trained individuals ready to rapidly deploy when necessary. The team consists of officers from the Crawfordsville Police Department, firefighter/paramedics from the Crawfordsville Fire Department, and deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office equating to a 20-member team with 3 negotiators and 4 medics.
Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Unit
Our detectives are responsible for investigating crimes, gathering information, and solving cases. They interview witnesses and suspects, analyze crime scenes, and work closely with forensic teams to uncover crucial information. Detectives compile reports and collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to ensure justice is served. Their keen analytical skills and attention to detail are essential in piecing together the puzzle of criminal activities.
K-9 Division
K-9 Titan (Pictured Right) is a 9-year-old Belgian Tervuren who has been in service since 2017. He is partnered with Deputy Hechinger. He is an NAPWDA certified dual purpose K-9; capable of seeking narcotics, tracking, and apprehension.
K-9 Demon (Pictured right) is from Belarus. He is a patrol K-9 partnered with Sgt. Crull. They are trained in seeking narcotics, tracking, building search, area search, & article search. He was purchased with a grant from the Ben Roethlisberger foundation in 2017. He is a shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix!

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officers
​The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office currently employs four School Resource Officers for the South Montgomery & North Montgomery Community School Corporations. These Deputies work tirelessly to ensure the safety of the students at their respective schools. Each School Resource Officer serving our community expresses great honor and responsibility in safeguarding the future of Montgomery County. Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Drone Operations

​The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office currently has two federally licensed drone operators. These drone operators will deploy drones in fugitive hunts, search & rescue operations, traffic collision reconstructions, SWAT operations, and hostage situations. The drone unit is paramount as it's an efficient and cost-effective way to ensure the safety of officers during high-risk situations and provides exponentially more coverage during search & rescue operations than officers would typically make on foot.
